Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology Bangalore (Dr AIT) came into existence in the year nineteen eighty. By the Panchajanya Vidyapheeta Welfare Trust in the city of Bangalore. This trust was founded by a renowned person Late Sri. M. H. Jayaprakash Narayan. This institute was started earlier with main branches of engineering that is the Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering & Electrical and Electronics Engineering. These branches were approved by AICTE New Delhi. Later in the coming years Electronics & Communication Engg, Industrial Engg & Management, Instrumentation Tech, Computer Science & Engineering, Telecommunication Engg, Information Sc. & Engineering and Medical Electronics were inducted with the earlier branches. This college has 14 research centers which are recognized by the VTU Belgavi. In the coming years the strength has grown to 1300 student’s intake for all the courses which the college provides under 10 undergraduate, 8 postgraduate programmes of engg and other PG Programmes like MBA, MCA & MSc in Engg by research Programmes.
