Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering Mysore (SJCE) came into existence in the year 1963 by the great novel person Dr. T. M. A. Pai who was the than chairman of Academy of Education. With the great help from JSS Mahavidyapeetha for long years has built a great name for itself and now it is a recognized organization under the Visvesvaraya Technological University Belgavi. This is governed by grant-in-aid of government of Karnataka. This institution is credited by (NBA) National Board of accreditation and is also approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. This college provides a significant attraction to the Mysore city with the massive area it covers in Mysore as it has a fantastic structure. This college has been recognized by the TEQIP which is Technical Education High quality Improvement Programme. From this it has obtained nice rupees 20 crores which has helped it to grow to a higher level.
